YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
One of our main goals is to teach lacrosse to a younger generation and establish an enthusiastic player base. lacrosse is a fun game and we want every child who wants to learn it to be given the opportunity. We understand that sports can be a relief from problems that kids go through in some countries, and we want to step up as that respite.
COMMUNITY INTERACTION
We want to introduce lacrosse as a community activity to Ecuador. Fans are just as important as players and we want lacrosse to make an impact on everyone's lives for the better. We will partake in community service to help give back to the people who help set the foundation for our success as a program.
HIGH LEVEL DEVELOPMENT
Overall, we want to be a successful national team program. We want to show the world what it means to be a proud Ecuadorian. We want to win. A main goal of ours is to develop skilled and gifted players to compete at the highest level. that only comes from developing players from the youth and establishing ourselves within the community. Ecuador lacrosse is more than a team. It's a family.
WHAT IS LACROSSE?
Understanding the fastest game on two feet
Lacrosse is a team sport, involving 10 players on a team at a time: Three attackmen, who's job it is to score goals, three defensemen, who try to stop the attackmen, three midfielders, who play both offense and defense, and a goalkeeper, who defends his team's goal. A team scores a point by firing a ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most points by the end of the game wins. the game was initially invented by Native Americans but has since spread to 6 continents.
